Every cask carries a history before it arrives at our distillery.

This whisky began its journey in an oak barrel that had already matured malt whisky at South Africa's Three Ships Distillery. By the time it reached Roam, the oak had absorbed years of character - gentle spice, soft vanilla and the quiet imprint of another place and another distillery.

Filled once more, the cask continued its story in Western Australia. Over time, our spirit found its own balance within the wood, building richness and complexity while allowing the cask's previous life to remain a subtle thread rather than the whole narrative.

There is only one cask like this. A meeting of two distilleries, two landscapes and two approaches to whisky making, brought together by patience and bottled exactly as the barrel intended.

Nose

A delicate smoke rises first, intertwined with toasted oak and vanilla. Beneath the smoke are notes of dried apricot and melon with subtle earthy spice reflecting the character of the South African whisky cask.

Palete

Rich and well-rounded, opening with flavours of toffee and vanilla custard. The smoky influence remains soft and elegant rather than dominant, giving way to layers of dried fruit, caramelised citrus and toasted oak.

Finish

Medium to long, warming and refined. Lingering smoke, dark honey and gentle oak fade into notes of cocoa and dried fruit. The final impression is smooth, lightly smoky and distinctly reminiscent of a well-matured whisky shared around a fireside.
